The hard work paid off when Beragh Scór competitors went to Ardboe on Sunday for Senior Scór semi finals and won through to the County Final in four categories. The competition was intense but we will be very well represented in the final in Galbally on Sunday 7th February at 3pm.

The solo singing is always a well contested and difficult competition and Clare Mc Aleer won through beating other excellent singers. Martin Mc Crory won through in the Story Telling competition with a very entertaining rendition of “Sarah Anne”. The Ballad Group of Sarah Owens, Clare Mc Aleer, Paul Tallon, Michael Owens and Michael Mc Caughey competed in a competition against a lot of polished and experienced groups but nonetheless booked their place in the final. The quiz competition is not a place for the faint hearted but our team of James Rodgers, Seamus Rodgers, Francis Farley and Paul Tallon progressed.

This is a really excellent achievement by our Scór competitors. There is a lot of talent in this community and we are glad to see it coming to the fore. In Beragh Red Kinghts we aim to compete honestly and earnestly in all GAA competitions. Just as in football or handball, we are delighted that our Scór people are doing well.

An Chraobh Rua Abú.
