Covid-19 Community Support- Here To Help

In light of COVID-19 and the unprecedented times that are present with us, a team of community volunteers from the Beragh, Sixmilecross and surrounding areas have come together and are currently working alongside our local shops and businesses to provide a ‘shop to home’ service for the elderly, vulnerable, those who are self-isolating or those who feel anxious by the surreal position we all find ourselves in.
When you place your order with the local shops, whether its for groceries, butchery, newspapers, coal or any other essential needs, they will contact the Community Volunteer Co-ordinator if assistance is required, the co-ordinator will then arrange for a volunteer to deliver your goods to your door. This will be a non-contact free delivery service.
We encourage anyone who might need this service to get in contact:
Donaghys Spar, Beragh – 028 8075 8273
Mc Ginns Butchers, Beragh – 028 8075 8844
G W Gibsons & Son, Beragh -028 8075 8247
Heaney’s Spar Sixmilecross –  028 8075 8050
Jackies Nisa, Sixmilecross -028 8076 0547

Prescription Deliveries

In the event where your local Community Pharmacist is unable to provide the traditional goodwill delivery service, please ask a family member, friend or neighbour to collect your prescriptions. If this is not possible, you may be able to arrange for a community volunteer to collect on your behalf.
All deliveries will be treated in a confidential and professional manner and all volunteers will be provided with protective gloves, hand sanitiser and masks.
Accommodation has been made available in close proximity to Beragh for any NHS staff or key workers who need to self-isolate.
For further information please contact the Community Volunteer Co-ordinator

Live webinar sessions presented by experienced GAA coaches. Don’t miss out!

To help coaches through this difficult period, the GAA, An Cumann Camogaíochta and the LGFA have created a series of coach development sessions to take place over the coming weeks. The sessions will run every Tuesday and Thursday at 7.30pm, beginning this Thursday, March 26th.

The sessions will be along two separate formats. Every Tuesday there will be a live Questions and Answers session with a coach. Any participants in the Q and A will have an opportunity to view the coach delivering a session from the GAA Games Development Conference over the last couple of years and submit their questions via twitter for the coach to answer live.

Every Thursday there will be a live webinar presented by a coach or coach developer. The webinar will be a 30-minute presentation followed by a live Q and A with the presenter.

The first schedule of sessions is listed above.

All sessions will be advertised through the GAA Learning site – learning.gaa.ie and across all of the social media channels.

To access the sessions, any participants can simply click on the link directly from the GAA Learning Site page.
