Social and cultural

Tin whistle – Red Knights triumphed at the Tyrone Feish last weekend and we congratulate all involved. Over the past 18 months a Tin Whistle Class has been going in the Beragh Red Knights clubhouse led by our own Laura Mc Sorley. Last weekend students from that class entered the West Tyrone Feish and competed against other established Comhaltas groups from all over Tyrone. Anyone who has attended a Tyrone Feish will know the very high standard of competition and we are delighted to announce that all our participants were placed. In the P5 age group Shea Colton and Ronan Mc Garvey were Highly Commended and Aoife Boyle was joint third along with Áine Mc Brearty. In the P3 age group Aoifa Sheridan was in third place, Annie Farley came second and Kathleen Mc Caughey was first. This is a really tremendous result and we congratulate the children along with Laura Mc Sorley and Patricia Meegan on this achievement. In Beragh we try to increase expectations and to raise the bar in everything we do; the achievement of our tin whistle class has certainly done that. Mól an Óige agus tiocfaidh sí (nurture the youth and they will succeed). The class is now over for the summer and we wish Laura well and hope to have her back in September. Well Done!

Child Drama Class continues on Monday from 6-7pm for P2 – P4s and 7-8pm for P5 – P7s. All places filled.

Adult drama classes are on Monday nights from 8-9pm. These classes will be for secondary school age or over.
