In light of COVID-19 and the unprecedented times that are present with us, a team of community volunteers have come together and are currently working alongside our local shops and businesses in the Beragh and Sixmilecross area to provide a ‘shop to home’ service for the elderly, vulnerable, those who are self-isolating or those who feel anxious by the surreal position we all find ourselves in.
When you place your order with the local shops, whether its for groceries, butchery, newspapers, coal or any other essential needs, they will ask if you would like your order delivered by one of the community volunteers. If assistance is required the shops will contact the co-ordinator who will then arrange for a volunteer to deliver your goods to your door. It will be a non-contact free delivery service.
Prescription delivery services were traditionally a good will Pharmacy service, therefore due to the unprecedented pressures of COVID-19 Community Pharmacists may not be able to deliver these medicines now. Where possible please ask a family member, friend or neighbour to collect your medicines. If this is not possible you may be able to arrange for a community volunteer to pick up medicines on your behalf now. Tallon’s Sixmilecross
If you wish for a community volunteer to collect and deliver your medicines from the local Pharmacy you will need to instruct both (1) the Volunteer Co-ordinator and (2) the Community Pharmacist in this matter. The Volunteer will then be acting as your Patient Representative when collecting the medication from the Pharmacy. Where the Community Pharmacist feels it is inappropriate to place your medications into a volunteers care e.g. medication liable to abuse, the Pharmacist has the right to ask you to arrange an alternative way to collect your medication.

All deliveries will be treated in a confidential and professional manner.
All volunteers will be provided with protective gloves, hand sanitisers and masks.
