Kenyan athlete Vincent Kiprotich has won the Beragh 5 Mile Road Race in a record 24:51.

The Project Africa Athletics runner took more than one minute off the course record set by Omagh Harriers’ Stephen Duncan last year. The local elite runner was runner-up in a time of 25:47 ahead of Martin Cox (Project Africa) in third with 27:40.

The wet weather conditions evident throughout the week managed to subside for the Easter Saturday event, that saw close to 500 take part in the 5 Mile and 5K events.
